fall is here, hear the yell.

Got every single class I wanted too, except for the American Pop Music class. I decided to take Human Sexuality instead because it filled another requirement of mine. Other than that, I'll be taking Journalism, International Relations, American History from 1877 and icky math :p

The icing on the cake is that I'll have Tuesday and Thursdays off since my classes only land on Mon, Wed and Fridays! I'm so excited to go back to school, lol. It makes me happy to know I'm going to enjoy these classes this semester.

Mike and I spent an evening in Amsterdam, slept all day and then drove with Alex to Leuven for PET. I'm giving an invited talk on Friday, I'll probably also give a rump session or two.

imma write this as if someone i dont know and doesnt know me is reading it because i dont know a lot of my friends on here so they cant really relate to what im talking about when i talk about real personal things or people.
life has been sweet lately everything has been going nice and easy. i love summer time and this has been a good one, been real laid back. the weather has not felt like summer for the most part it has been much cooler than summers i can remember. i have been at home for most of the summer and have just been taking it easy and relaxing with my girl mostly. its been great, have had no problems and all has been very smooth.this summer ive felt that ive matured a lot in a lot of areas and i like how i feel about myself. this summer has brought a lot of good laughs and i hope it ends strong.

im excited because today i hooked up my turntables and mixer finally. it feels so good to have them bumpin because they have just been sitting in my room gathering dust cause i dont have a PA or stereo to hook them up to. but i brought them over to my neighbors and got a couple records spinning, mixed a few songs..im really stoked off it since ive been wanting to use them for so long.

i saw batman today and it was great. i think the whole idea of heath ledger dying during the final production of it adds an insane eery effect to his character, and his part as the joker was by far the dopest villain in any of the batman movies yet.they did this one right..was more violent.

i got my buddy tjs old bong and its been kickin lately been having lotsa fun with it

tjs and dylans band tight bikes is gonna be playin on thursday and i havent been to a show in a while and it should be really fun. i do miss all the old shows. i miss goin to em 2 or 3 times a week and havin lots of fun nights..hopefully some rad ones will come up soon.

i gotta get teeth drilled tommorow cause im a fool and need to brush my damn teeth more.

The Prids were involved in a bad wreck and need help.

"Our dear friends The Prids - David, Mistina, Joey and Maile - and two of their significant others - Kristin and Chris - were in a serious accident early Sunday evening while en route to Los Angeles on tour. A tire blew, they lost control of the van and it rolled several times. David was airlifted from the scene of the crash, he suffered a broken collar bone, broken ribs and has 6 staples in his head. Chris broke his arm, and they are waiting for MRI results to determine if he's sustained a spinal injury. Maile has a broken vertebra and toe and a severe cut with stitches on her knee. Joey broke ribs, Mistina suffered a concussion, and as far as I know Kristin is in similar shape. As of late tonight, everyone but Chris has been released from the hospital, and they are staying at a hotel in Fresno.

A special paypal account has been set up to help out and donate directly to The Prids. And the recent update (9:30 this morning) is that Chris is out of the hospital but David went back in this morning vomiting blood. He's on a morphine drip and stable."

I ran some more photos though PTGui. Managed to crash it twice, and it couldn't auto-generate control points on a few photos. It also can't merge portrait and landscape photos, which seems like a weird limitation.

These are just roughs for evaluating the stitching software. When I actually make panoramas for reals, these will have the vignetting corrected, and the noise (hopefully) removed, and the exposure adjusted, and all those things that I secretly do to my photos in post-processing. They'll also all line up correctly too, which not all of these do. (On some of them I had to enter control points by hand, and being just a tiny bit off will rotate the whole frame.) (And they certainly won't have stupid watermarks all over them.)

So, here's your homework assignment:

I've uploaded the original resolution (3872x2592 etc.) JPGs from some of the above tests. Download these and stitch them back together with your favorite software, and then tell me how it goes. Some of them were taken hand-held, and so the camera moves position from one frame to the next. I was thinking of uploading the NEFs, but oh well.

P.S. If you're wondering about the Burning Man ones; I climbed up a 40ft. tower, and stayed there until I was no longer afraid of hights. I was psyching myself up for an experience I had later that night — the night of the burn. I happened to have my camera with me at the time, and captured these (and other) photos of the sunset. They were all done hand-held, while hanging off a wobblely tower, keep that in mind when you can see the stars in the sky in some of them.

So I went to have my teeth cleaned today and I forgot just how painful it is. I mean it's not like mind numbingly painful, just enough that it's really fucking annoying. I started questiong whether this stupid lady was doing her job or just trying to torture me for the fun of it. Afterwards I drove to the mall to see if I could spend some more of my giftcard but I found nothing worth it. :( Patti needs a new pair of shoes.

I was told i could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume between 9 and 11.

I was also told i was working this week monday - thursday.

Turns out i'm actually working tuesday - friday. Oops! I found this out after i'd gone in, dressed-out, and was sitting in lineup.

Thankfully, i only live about ten minutes from the station, and i took advantage of the early morning start to get some errands done, and now i have a day off i wasn't expecting to have. So all in all, i suppose it's a good thing. If i'd known i wasn't working today, i'd still be in my pajamas now.

Had plans yesterday to see the new batman flick with that_lyric and defenestr8r but my poor time management skills caused that to fail (along with the million other things i had planned, like going to see my family in the south bay). Maybe that can happen today, now. But not before i clean my bathroom. We had some naked mud-slathered hippy butoh dancers or some shit at the party saturday night and there is now mud all over the fucking place from them which they did not clean up. I am so close to installing chlorine gas vents in the theater. For serious.

Everything's good other than the entire population of the internet hating our guts! lol.

We started Odin Sphere last night and OMG. I seriously underestimated this game! Its so great! Its such great fun .. the characters and character designs are all so wonderful. I didn't realize this but its the same studio that did Grim Grimiore (which I never beat!), which is why the animation and art is so gorgeous. I'm gonna try and finish both games this week, and get some sorta cosplay list going.
We're thinking Jamie should be Odin, and I can be .. Oswald? Maybe? I wanna crossplay.

Jamie and I have switched our apartment search to a house search. Its really insane how many benefits he gets from having been in the military. He gets a guaranteed loan for a house just for being a veteran. So .. we figure we might as well. That and theres a huge possibility mortgage payments may be less than payments for an LA apartment. So we're going for it! .. all I can think about concerning a house is decorating it, though. :(

So the movie was pretty epic. :P I realized the one thing I'd like to do in life is bone the joker, two face and batman all at the same time... :3 oh yes.
